Job DescriptionYWCA CWCH and FG provide rent geared to income housing for women and their children in the DTES and Langley. There are communal gardens, outdoor play areas suitable for younger children and each site has an amenity room. CWCH It is located above the nə́c̓aʔmat ct Strathcona library and Fraser Gardens is its own building in Langley.

**What you’ll be doing**:
The Community Development Coordinator for YWCA Cause We Care House and Fraser Gardens will connect tenants with community resources, and support the development of community within the housing site.
- Meet with new tenants to offer support and orientation to their new housing and the community
- Schedule, organize and facilitate monthly community meetings with tenants
- Support the development of workshops with tenants’ involvement
- Responsible for fair distribution of donations
- Supervise volunteers and practicum students
- Participate in community committees
- Distribute property management notices to tenants
- Provide entry to vendors attending at the housing site
- Other duties as required

**What you’ll need**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of community development principles
- Experience in facilitating group meetings
- Ability to search for relevant resources
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Appropriate professional boundaries
- Knowledge of issues faced by lone parenting women
- Knowledge of local and city-wide community services
- Team player
- Able to work independently and be self-motivated
- A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
- The YWCA Metro Vancouver’s COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as a result, vaccination from COVID-19 is not required at this time. However, should circumstances change and the YWCA deem it necessary to reintroduce such policy, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to be eligible to continue performing your duties.
