You'll also ensure all programs and services reflect YWCA's mission: advancing equity and well-being for women, families, and allies.

This is more than a leadership role—it's an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of members and the broader community.

  • Provide leadership and inspire a diverse team of fitness professionals, sales staff, and volunteers, fostering a high-performance, participant-centred culture.

  • Build meaningful community programs and partnerships, and represent the YWCA as an advocate for gender equity, inclusion, and social justice in the wellness sector.

  • Champion accessibility, diversity, and equity within the Centre's programs, staff practices, and member experiences.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and regulatory standards, including developing risk management mitigation strategies.

  • Other duties as required.

What you'll bring:

  • Senior leadership experience in fitness, wellness, or recreation.

  • Proven success in sales and marketing strategies for membership growth, brand awareness, and revenue diversification.

  • Strong financial acumen, including budget management, forecasting, and revenue development.

  • Track record of building, leading, and motivating high-performing teams.

  • Experience overseeing facility operations and capital projects.

  • A strong commitment to social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion—and the ability to put these values into action.

Education & Certifications:

  • Current professional fitness certifications and valid first aid certification are an asset.

  • A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.

What we offer:

  • A leadership role with meaningful impact at one of BC's most respected non-profits.

  • The opportunity to combine business leadership with social purpose, advancing both community well-being and organizational sustainability.

  • A collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture.

  • Extended medical and dental benefits

  • A defined benefit pension plan (MPP)

  • Pregnancy, parental and adoption leave top up

  • 22 vacation days and 3 personal days, in addition to paid sick leave.

  • Flexible working arrangements for applicable positions

  • Employee Family Assistance Program, a confidential and voluntary support service for employees and their eligible family members

  • A workplace that prioritizes employee health, safety and well-being, including many learning and growth opportunities such as our employee mentorship program and three equity committees that help to support our goals towards achieving meaningful equity and inclusion.
