**Job description**

AVT is looking for an experienced Brake Press operator to join our team of dedicated fabricators.

Afternoon Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 2:30 am. Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Overtime often available for those that are interested.

**Roles and Responsibilities of the Brake Press Operator**
- Set up and operate brake press to bend, form or straighten metal products
- Provide brake press expertise, support, and direction including but not limited to; brake press operation, dies, measuring devices, gauges, tooling, material handling and safety
- Ensures that the brake press is properly set-up, working well and producing quality product
- Completes a quality inspection of the finished product to ensure defect-free
- Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies, and procedures
- Must ensure machine safety rules are followed (light curtains, guarding, etc.)
- Bend parts according to provided drawings and specifications
- Completion of data entry and/or paperwork as required
- Interface with Quality and Engineering
- Maintain proper Manufacturing housekeeping standards
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers

**COMPETENCIES**
- Min. 5 years of brake press operation experience a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills to comprehend how schematics work
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and other specifications accordingly
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills
- Must be able to stand and complete repetitive motion for extended periods of time
- Experience with Metal Fabrication an asset
- Ability to use Tape Measure, Vernier, and other measuring tools
- Ability to identify and change Brake Press tools
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Capable to lift up to 50lbs comfortably
- Dependability
- Previous experience driving a Fork-Lift would be an asset

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour
