- Hours: 30 to 44 hours per week
- Wage: $35.40 per hour
- Vacation Pay: 4% of gross earnings

WOW Bakery Ltd. o/a WOW Bakery Factory is the central commissary operation behind the WOW Bakery brand. We are a premium bakery headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, known for our high-quality cakes, pastries, and artisan baked goods. Our commissary kitchen produces for all WOW Bakery locations and supports menu innovation and operational consistency across the brand.

Job Responsibilities
- Create and develop new recipes; assist with planning and updating menus.
- Maintain high standards for food storage, rotation, and presentation.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs or purchases as needed.
- Supervise and train pastry staff, including bakers, cake decorators, and kitchen assistants.
- Interview, recruit, and hire new staff as needed.
- Estimate costs and quantities of ingredients and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, sales, and inventory.
- Analyze kitchen operating costs and implement efficiency improvements.
- Demonstrate baking techniques and new equipment to staff.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty items for catering or events.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with management to plan seasonal product launches or promotional menus.
- Monitor and manage labor and production schedules to optimize staffing and efficiency.
- Evaluate and provide performance feedback to pastry team members.
- Requisition of food and kitchen supplies.
- Participate in and contribute to regular team meetings.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Secondary school graduation certificate (required)

**Experience**:

- Several years of relevant professional pastry or baking experience (required)
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a commercial bakery or kitchen environment is an asset

- Must be able to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods
- Repetitive tasks and tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
