**DEPARTMENT: Engagement Quality & Improvement**

The Engagement and Quality Improvement (EQI) Department works in large part to support the Joint Clinical Committees (JCCs) which include the: General Practices Services Committee (GPSC), Shared Care Committee (SCC), and Specialist Services Committee (SSC). EQI is comprised of four centres of expertise: Primary & Community Care Transformation, Quality Impact, Facility and Community Engagement and JCC Alignment. Driven by collaborative relationships between the Ministry of Health and Doctors of BC, and captured under the Physician Master Agreement, they are a group focused on developing and leveraging relationships, sharing knowledge and lessons learned and working together towards common goals to support improved patient outcomes, increased professional satisfaction and decreased system costs.

***THE TEAM: Facility & Community Engagement**

The Facility & Community Engagement team provides strategic guidance and supports to advance meaningful consultation and partnerships among community-based physicians and among facility-based physicians as well as with their health authority and Ministry of Health partners.

Engagement Partners collaborate with health authorities and physicians in both Medical Staff Associations (MSAs) and Divisions of Family Practice (DoFP) by exploring opportunities for stakeholders to work together on shared priorities that impact physicians and patient care. EPs strategically support key partner relationships by providing advice and guidance to MSAs and DoFP on capacity building, knowledge sharing, acute and community care integration, and processes/structures for meaningful consultation and collaboration into local, regional and provincial health system matters.

**THE JOB: Engagement Partner, Lower Mainland**

Reporting to the Engagement Manager, Lower Mainland, the Engagement Partner enables and optimizes ongoing relationship development and capacity building within a designated geographic area in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health Authority for physicians and health system partners. The Engagement Partner is a trusted advisor and liaison to medical staff association and divisions of family practice physician leaders and their staff, working with these physician organizations to build capacity and ensure that they can represent and lead effectively on behalf of their members. The Engagement Partner strategically advises with their stakeholders to advance meaningful consultation and partnerships between physicians, health authority and Ministry of Health partners.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role include strengthening relationships between physicians and their key partners, providing strategic support to medical staff associations and division of family practices in developing governance and organizational capacity to effectively engage physicians, offering expert guidance through knowledge sharing amongst partners in their region, problem solving through local and regional issues, advancing locally and regionally-led activities with physicians and health authorities, enhancing the physician collective voice in health system planning and decision making, and contributing to provincial and regional committees related to physician engagement.
