**Position Summary**

The Purchaser will be responsible for the execution of defined processes and delivery of a high level of customer service in the procurement of goods and services for PakFab Engineered Solutions. The Purchaser will create and follow through on purchase orders based on production requirements from start to finish as well as provide estimating support to the project coordination team when required.

**Responsibilities**

  • Create purchase requisitions using Visual software
  • Create and follow through on purchase orders and production requirements from start to finish by following up after orders are placed and having clear confirmations from suppliers and logistics for deliveries
  • Evaluate material and suppliers to determine best source and most competitive pricing
  • Cost reductions of materials through potential resourcing of current vendors, along with the negotiation of pricing, terms, and conditions
  • Compare invoices against purchase orders and shipping/receiving documents to verify receipt of items ordered
  • Identify discrepancies between shipments and orders, take action as needed
  • Investigate and resolve billing issues
  • Communicate all delays and variances of inbound freight to the appropriate parties
  • Entering and updating vendor data
  • Build highly collaborative and resilient relationships across all business functions
  • Build supplier relationship programs to ensure performance and service expectations are met
  • Work with finance to set up best possible supplier payment terms and assist in reporting and analytics
  • Assist in preparation of outgoing quotation packages when required
  • Provide estimating support to the project coordination team when required
  • Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**

  • College/University degree or diploma in a related discipline or equivalent job experience and knowledge (required)
  • 3 years’ experience in purchasing (required)
  • Demonstrate experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong analytical mindset
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Desire to work in a team with a result driven approach
  • Highly proficient with MS Office

**Work Conditions**

  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Clean office environment
  • Travel to off-site locations may be required
  • PPE will be required if entering the production area
  • Working in the office 5 days a week
