**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- This is a 12-month temporary rotation to work within the Business Operations and Negotiations
- team for Indigenous Relations.- As a professional member of Indigenous Relations and reporting to a Team Lead (P4) or

Manager, the Indigenous Relations Specialist acts as a Program Manager for multiple Indigenous
- Employment Programs with low to medium risk/impact/complexity throughout the Province.- Facilitates and evaluates the Indigenous employment and training programs aiming to support

our corporate goal to increase the participation of Indigenous Peoples in the workforce at BC
- Hydro.- Designs, creates, and delivers Indigenous employment and capacity building programs by

collaborating with Indigenous Relations, business/project teams across the organization, and
- other relevant internal and external stakeholders to determine training requirements, objectives,
- assessments, and evaluation.- Develops project plans for various initiatives, including scope, budget, scheduling and project

team responsibilities in order to accomplish project objectives. Provides regular progress updates
- to the team and management.- Analyzes the key outcomes and stakeholder impact of the employment and training team’s

initiatives. Develops reports by using databases, information systems, surveys, and tools to track
- stakeholder impacts to support management’s timely decision making. Responsibilities and core
- tasks associated with this position include:
- Project Management - able to translate the Indigenous Employment and Training strategy into

workable action plans with clear targets and measurements that demonstrate success.- Program and Process Design - able to work with stakeholders to design new or refresh existing
- programs and processes to support Indigenous employment and capacity building.- Supports BC Hydro to advance relationships with Indigenous Nations, including fulfilling

agreement obligations.- Excellent communicator and facilitator - articulate, clear, confident and collaborative.
- Leads change management within Indigenous Relations and other BC Hydro departments to

ensure employment and capacity building initiatives are supported across the organization.- Highly collaborative - engage with cross functional teams and stakeholders in the development

and execution of initiatives.- Establishes strong relationships and communication channels with internal and external clients/

stakeholders to ensure success of program delivery.- Coaches and manages junior team members’ work as required.
- Providing leadership and work guidance that fosters a collaborative, productive, and healthy

work and team environment.- Is a member of the Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) working group, co-leading the

drafting of a chapter for the PAR submission, will participate in PAR adjudication process.- Manages Indigenous employment program metrics and reporting.
- Researches best practices in Indigenous employment and capacity building initiatives.
- Speaks internally and externally about employment as a key pillar of Reconciliation at BC Hydro.
- Develops tools and resources for people leaders and employees on Indigenous inclusion and

reconciliation.- Demonstrates continuous improvement approach to identify opportunities for Indigenous

employment and capacity building to contribute to advancing Reconciliation**Qualifications**:

- University degree in Public Policy, Law, Government, Public or Business Administration,

Engineering, or similar. Equivalent education and working experience may also be considered.- A minimum of seven years relevant experience and demonstrated ability to support the
