Nightclub Operations Manager

The Operations Manager, under the direction of the Senior Management, will primarily be responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day operations of the venue. This role will lead a high-performance team that is customer focused and profit driven. The Operations Manager will strive to achieve sales targets while remaining within budget in all aspects of the job. Additionally, liquor ordering and inventory management will be required.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for maintaining a consistently high level of customer service as outlined by the venue, this includes talking to customers to monitor their experiences.
- Greet and handle all guest interaction with a high level of professionalism and hospitality.
- Resolve all customer complaints as per venue procedures.
- Strive to achieve sales targets while respecting venue budget during day-to-day operations.
- Monitor and modify bar pricing and procedures as required. This includes updating the menus and any point-of-sale systems to reflect any changes.
- Ensure bar and staff compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and venue policies. This includes Smart Serve, Safe Food Handling policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety Legislation.
- Ensure that the facility consistently meets venue and legislative cleanliness and safety standards; this includes regularly monitoring of the kitchen and bathroom(s).
- Ensure that all relevant operational paperwork is posted as per legislated requirements.
- Responsible to lead, develop and coach all team members to ensure a high level of customer service as well as maximum profitability.
- Must be able to delegate tasks appropriately to team members.
- Ensure that the proper pouring procedures are being utilized in compliance with Rebel/Cabana operating procedures.
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff.
- Oversee training of new bar staff, including bartenders, waiters and waitresses.
- Prepare staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
- Maintain payroll and attendance records in accordance with legislative and Rebel/Cabana requirements.
- Monitor staff performance and conduct performance reviews as per Rebel/Cabana performance appraisal procedures.
- Monitor bar inventory to ensure that the appropriate orders are placed, while respecting the venue's budget and marketing partnerships. This includes monitoring the wine inventory and placing liquor orders.
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers, including pricing and delivery.
- Ensure that the facility consistently meets venue standards throughout daily operations. This includes ensuring that all stations are fully equipped at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Ensure that any and all variances are handled immediately as per venue procedures.
- Anticipate and react to any changes in business levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Skills and Requirements**
- Completion of a college diploma in hospitality, food and beverage service management or other related disciplines.
- 10 years of Management experience in the night club or food service industry.
- Responsible beverage service certification is required.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as required.
- Ability to work under pressure while complying with all relevant legislation.
- Strong beverage knowledge required, including wines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with monitoring and controlling inventory.
- Experience with negotiating with suppliers and placing orders.
- Familiarity with (POS) will be considered an asset.
**Work Conditions**
- Interacts with customers, employees and management.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Will work flexible shifts.
- Overtime may be required.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and point-of-sale system, as required.
- Lifting or moving up to 25 lbs may be required.
**Note: salary will be dependent on experience.**
