If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Purchasing Assistant at Nett Technologies, a leading exhaust emissions control manufacturer. We are looking for an experienced professional who can contribute their expertise to our growing organization.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and execute purchasing strategies for sheet metal, tubing and other components, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier information, product specifications, and pricing data to support purchasing decisions and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable terms and conditions to maximize value and minimize risk.
- Generate purchase orders and review supplier contracts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards, delivery schedules, and budgetary constraints.
- Monitor inventory levels, anticipate material requirements, and coordinate with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence.
- Proactively resolve any supplier-related issues, such as quality defects, shipment delays, or invoice discrepancies, by liaising with relevant internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Assist in the analysis of purchasing trends and performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to optimize procurement processes and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to identify innovative sourcing strategies and potential supplier partnerships.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 3 years experience in purchasing, preferably in a sheet metal manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures, with a solid understanding of supply chain management concepts.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in using purchasing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to manage procurement activities and analyze data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and leverage data to drive informed decision-making.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
