**Position Summary**

The Payroll & HR/Benefits Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits in accordance with Colio Estate Wines policies. This position is accountable for accuracy, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality, and compliance with legislation. The Payroll and HR/Benefits Administrator provides excellent customer service to various internal clients including, site managers and employees as well as external parties such as Service Canada, WSIB, and CRA.

**Essential Job Functions-Payroll**:

- Prepare and process full cycle payroll on a bi-weekly basis
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Run reports for calculation of EHT, remittances, benefits and WSIB premiums
- Maintain accurate and up to payroll and electronic personnel files
- Enter bonus and commission payments consistent with employment agreements and authorization thresholds
- Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/location transfers
- Set up additional payroll deductions and garnishes
- Process retroactive payments, earnings, and deductions
- Reconcile year end statutory remittances and T4’s
- Accurate preparation and distribution of Process Records of Employment (ROE’s)
- Ensure vacation entitlement (liability) balance accurately reflects amounts owed to employees; when authorized process vacation pay outs
- Provide payroll to site and head office managers for approval
- Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping

information confidential
- Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis
- Provide reporting required by internal departments and external organizations such as CRA, and Service Canada

**Essential Job Functions-Human Resources**:

- Plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy.
- The implementation of human resources policies and procedures including employee relations, benefits administration, compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulatory agencies.
- Employee Relations and Investigations with help from Executive Team.
- Coordinate annual benefit renewal discussions and participate in decision-making regarding benefits offered.
- Maintain HR downloads software and new employee information. Set up training

modules.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience with full feature Payroll software
- Knowledge of ADP, UKG or Paymate would be an asset
- Minimum 3 years’ payroll and benefits experience
- PCP certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize

work
- Membership with the Canadian Payroll Association an asset
- Strong computer skills are needed, including proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of “back-office” computer systems (SAP software - an asset.)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to prioritize, coordinate, and manage multiple activities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
