The role of the Agriculture Information Supervisor is to lead the Agriculture Information Team to provide agricultural material, program delivery and consultation services to agricultural clients. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising a team of four. They will lead the team in program delivery and development of new opportunities for the Future Farmer, Community Food Security Agriculture Awareness, Agri-Food Growth/Agri-Food Promotion Programs. They will also coordinate delivery of general agricultural information to clients.
**Duties will include but are not limited to**:
- Lead the Agriculture Information Team to develop effective information delivery systems;
- Supervise staff in delivery of the Community Food Security Agriculture Awareness, Agri-Food Growth and Agri-Food Promotions Programs;
- Oversee the annual delivery of pesticide certification training;
- Respond to client information needs;
- Keep abreast of current agriculture trends, technologies and information delivery modes;
- Promote the programs and services of the Department;
- Responsible for supervising, guiding and mentoring staff;
- Provide advice, briefing notes and other information requested by Department Senior Management;
- Assist in delivery of departmental initiatives such as the Sustainable Canadian Agriculture Partnership suite of programs;
- Management and delivery of the Future Farmer Program;
- Provide information on commodity specific programs, environmental and climate change programming and departmental programs, services and initiatives;
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and industry groups;
- Prepare monthly work reports, mileage reports and other reporting as required;
- Other duties as required.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Masters of Science in Agriculture with an emphasis on Agriculture Business with considerable experience working in an agriculture business related field, or program development and delivery.
OR
- Bachelors of Science in Agriculture with an emphasis on Agriculture Business with extensive experience working in an agriculture business related field, or program development and delivery.
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
- Must have excellent skills in written and oral communication, conflict resolution, organization and extension practices.
- Must be eligible for professional agrologist designation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- The incumbent needs strong skill sets in the following areas:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of the Agriculture industry in PEI.

- Interpreting and understanding business plans.
