**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The research focus of this position will include:

- Designing, implementing, managing and conducting research field trials, preparing and coordinating field activity plans
- Collecting and analyzing soil samples, planting, monitoring soil greenhouse (GHG) emissions, measuring plant photosynthesis parameters, implementing pest and nutrient management strategies, harvesting and grading
- Conducting SWAT mapping, installing and maintaining onsite weather monitoring stations, operating unmanned aerial vehicles/drones to analyze spatial variability and crop health, and developing sustainable farm management practices
- Managing and analyzing agricultural data and maintaining detailed project records
- Writing technical reports, peer-reviewed publications, and project proposals
- Troubleshooting, maintaining, and calibrating the GHG measuring instruments and other field instruments
- Collaborating with researchers, students, growers and industry partners.
- Mentoring undergraduate students

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A master’s degree in sustainable design engineering, agricultural engineering or environmental science/studies or a related field or an undergraduate degree in a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and managing agricultural research field trials and field logistics
- Hands-on experience with GHG measurement techniques and other environmental monitoring tools
- Proficiency in software programs such as ArcGIS, Minitab, WEKA, and Edraw Max
- Solid understanding of sustainable agriculture practices, soil science, and crop physiology
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively with research team and stakeholders
- Strong data analysis skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple research tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary research team
