Brush Salon, founded by Michael Gibson and Calvyn Cass, is a family-owned and operated salon offering the latest hair techniques and modern looks. We have consistently been voted as one of Vancouver's top hair salons. We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join us on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at our East Vancouver and Gastown locations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage owner's meetings, reviews, appointments, and events using Google Calendar
- Arrange required meetings, coordinate attendees/attendance, and refreshments
- Prepare agendas for meetings and schedule for the owner
- Record, compile, transcribe, and distribute minutes of meetings to the team
- Coordinate and maintain records of staff reviews, write-ups, and verbal warnings
- Update the monthly calendar in the staff room with important dates and birthdays
- Ensure inventory counts are completed on time and coordinate with the Front End team
- Book travel arrangements, such as cost-efficient flights, hotels, and visas for the owner and necessary team members
- Maintain and update company data files (employee contracts, reports)
- Hold team accountable to their job descriptions and duties
- Coordinate company insurance renewals and discuss updates/changes with the owner
- Inform benefits provider of any employee leaving Brush and remove them from Health Benefits Coverage
- Onboard new team members with necessary information (contract, non-negotiables, new employee form, Salon Scale, Vericlock, bio for website, Meet Your Stylist)
- Send employee termination/leave information to the bookkeeper
- Create Excel documents when requested by the owner and conduct quarterly and annual Salon Scale Audits
- Maintain office supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed supplies
- Share and promote the team's work via Instagram stories while upholding the Brush aesthetic
- Create Backbar orders for the top 30 products to ensure they are well-stocked; move unnecessary dead stock
- Submit all received invoices and receipts to Dext, noting the expense's origin and allocation; have a strong understanding of bookkeeping duties and work closely with our bookkeeper
- Answer, screen, and transfer all necessary phone calls to the owner
- Resolve any high-level guest complaints on behalf of the owner
- Clean and organize the working area
- Perform general clerical duties, including photocopying, faxing, and mailing
- Resolve administrative problems and inquiries
- Update and organize the Living Policies & Procedures Manual
- Anticipate challenges
- Manage and pay for any personal use of product
- Notify the Salon Coordinator when product/stock is low
- Attend all quarterly reviews
- Attend all monthly staff meetings
- Demonstrate excellent personal/social skills when dealing with vendors, customers, coworkers, and the owner; avoid discussing internal business or personal issues in front of guests/coworkers; if there is an issue, speak to an owner or manager directly; we are a gossip-free salon and believe the back room is not the space to resolve conflicts or issues
- Undertake all reasonable tasks allocated to you
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the owner from time to time

**Salary**: From $21.00 per hour
