Full-Time | Winnipeg & Manitoba Region | Profit-Sharing Opportunity
**Who We Are**
South East Mechanical (formerly South East Ventilation), in partnership with We Love Plumbing Ltd., is expanding beyond HVAC into mechanical and plumbing project management. We’re a Métis‑owned, Manitoba‑rooted company, committed to quality, growth, and community values.
**Position Summary**
We’re seeking a dual‑role professional: someone with estimating expertise who also excels in managing mechanical projects. As a Mechanical Estimator / Project Manager, you’ll craft accurate bids and estimates while overseeing projects end‑to‑end—coordinating logistics, subcontractors, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on spec, and on budget.
We strongly value collaboration and respect all voices on our team. This role comes with competitive compensation—including base salary and a share in project profits—as well as full‑time hours and consistent support in a team‑first environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bids (materials, equipment, labour, subcontractors) using take‑offs and estimation software
- Source and compare supplier and sub‑trade pricing efficiently
- Maintain bid documentation and track updates (addenda, revised plans)
- Coordinate site visits as needed
- Support project execution by managing schedules, budgets, and resources
- Communicate clearly with clients, trades, and internal teams throughout project life-cycle
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and process improvements
- Other duties and continuous learning as assigned
**What You Bring**
- Courses or diploma in Engineering Technologies, Technical Drafting, AutoCAD, Construction Management—or equivalent hands‑on experience
- 5+ years in mechanical estimating or project management (commercial HVAC/plumbing focus preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software tools
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and math proficiency
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management abilities
- Self‑motivated, reliable, team‑oriented, and customer‑focused
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Manitoba (and occasionally Ontario)
- Desire to contribute to a growing, community‑minded business
**Compensation & Benefits**
We propose:
A competitive base salary aligned with experience and expertise, plus profit-sharing for projects you manage—from planning through completion. Your total compensation can reflect both your estimating and project-management impact.
Additional Benefits:
- Dental, vision, extended health care, and paid time off
- Company events and paid training courses.
- Full-time hours with occasional evenings or weekends as project needs require
- Strong upward mobility as we continue to grow
**How to Apply**
