**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Manage all aspects of the bidding phase during tendering
- Evaluate estimates for potential risks
- Finalize and compile tender documents for review and submission
- Reviews specifications and drawings to determine the total scope of work and associated costs.
- Develop sub-contract, proposal, and estimating strategies
- Ensure estimates align with execution and cost management requirements
- Prepares quantity take-offs for labour and material costing
- Prepare BOMs to support procurement requirements
- Prepare submission schedules and manpower loading profile
- Prepare multiple subcontractor tender packages
- Review and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor quotes
- Lead internal estimate review meetings
- Attend and participate in site-visits, as well as pre-bid and post-bid meetings
- Establish and maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships
- Adapt the Project Controls Plan as required for a specific project scope of work
- Assist with project start up and close out; shop drawing, procurement, Safety/Quality plans and O+M manuals
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including Trotter & Morton’s Health & Safety program
- Understand and follow Trotter & Morton's Quality Control Program
- Perform other duties, as required

**Required Skills**:

- Solid team player with a positive attitude
- Strong time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy supported by strong analytic skills
- Ability to understand construction work sequence and the impact on costs when sequence is disrupted or changed
- Proficient with developing resource loaded project schedules
- Proven ability to close complex tenders, bids and proposals
- Excellent computing background, including experience with programs such as MS Office, MS Project, and Estimating software packages (Accubid Pro, Livecount, McCormick’s, P6, and Procore experience an asset)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required Experience
- Previous experience working with a general or electrical contractor
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating in fields such as oil/gas, process fabrication, waste water treatment, irrigation, mining, forestry, transportation, utility generation, substation, and similar heavy or light industrial fields
- Fluent in reading mechanical, electrical, process and control drawings, single line drawings
- Construction or engineering background preferred
- Familiar with projects relating to structural steel, module assembly, piping fabrication and installation, setting equipment and millwrighting, earthworks, piling, and concrete, Water and Wastewater, oil and gas, industrial, large commercial, controls, substations, field wiring for power, instrumentation and controls
- Possess a Journeyman Electrician ticket or a technical diploma or a degree in electrical engineering.
- Alternate project delivery experience, e.g. Design-Build, Integrated Project Delivery, 3D take-off, an asset

**Additional Requirements**
- Valid Canadian Driver’s License
- Travel may be required
