Commercial Rear-Load Truck Driver - Dartmouth
**Location**: Dartmouth, NS
**Position Type**: Full-time - Permanent
**Reporting**: Route Supervisor
**Start Date**: TBD

**Responsibilities**:
In the position of Commercial Rear-Load Driver, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- The safe and efficient operation of a rear-load waste truck.
- Must have excellent knowledge of and be familiar with the roads in the Halifax Regional Municipality and surrounding areas.
- Ensure customers are serviced as per their contractual requirements and schedules.
- Physical ability to safely push and pull various sizes and weights of containers in and out of enclosures and rooms. Unlocking and locking of containers and enclosures/rooms is required as well as cleaning up around the waste containment areas of customer locations.
- Must empty and replace totes at customer sites and install new tote liners where required.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Meet or exceed performance and productivity expectations through proven results.
- Comply with all Miller Waste System and Provincial health and safety policies and procedures.
- Periodically required to assist with driving for residential collections.
- Must be physically capable of loading materials into the waste truck by hand and by utilizing the cart tipper. This is a physically demanding role.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a valid minimum Class 3 driver’s licence.
- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Clean drivers abstract and no preventable accidents in the past year.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Flexibility with your work schedule is necessary as start and end times may vary. Statutory Holidays and / or weekends will be required at times.
- Effective written and verbal communication is mandatory.
