**Merlin Plastics Group** is hiring a **Maintenance Technician Apprentice** to join our fast-paced, team-oriented facility in **New Westminster, BC**.

What You’ll Do:

- Assist with **routine and preventive maintenance** on machines and production equipment
- Learn to diagnose and repair **mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic**, and **electrical systems**:

- Support the **installation, relocation, and commissioning** of new equipment
- Follow **Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)** safety procedures
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports
- Conduct basic **inspections and troubleshooting** to help prevent equipment issues
- Work closely with the **maintenance and production teams** to ensure smooth operations
- Participate in **safety initiatives** and help maintain a safe work environment
- Learn about **continuous improvement** and best practices in industrial maintenance

Qualifications:

- **1-2 years of mechanical or technical experience** OR education in trades, mechanical, or electrical fields is an asset
- Interest in **machine maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics**, or similar systems
- Completion of **LOTO training** (or willingness to complete upon hire)
- WHMIS certification (preferred, but not required)
- Strong **problem-solving** skills and willingness to learn
- Good **teamwork** and **communication** abilities
- Must be comfortable with hands-on, physical tasks
