A challenging opportunity exists in the Central Ambulance Communications Centre located in the community of Wallaceburg in the municipality of Chatham-Kent. We are seeking dedicated individuals to work rotating shifts as needed in a 24/7 environment.

**Summary of Duties**:

- Process emergency and non-emergency requests for ambulance and fire response
- Communicate with individuals under stress
- Provide pre-arrival instructions
- Direct and coordinate ambulance and fire unit movement
- Operate complex computer-aided telecommunications equipment

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Minimum 18 years of age and Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Communicate effectively and tactfully, both oral and written
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to maintain control under pressure and work at a fast pace in an unpredictable environment
- Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking
- Make sound, independent decisions and exercise discretion during emergency/difficult/stressful situations, and be accountable for such decisions
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and stakeholders
- Strong computer literacy, data entry, retrieval and keyboarding skills
- Experience in Emergency Services is an asset

**Employment Offer Conditional on**:

- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
- Successful completion of all training requirements and ACO Provincial Certification
- Restricted Radio Operator Certification

**Additional Information**:

- Successful applicant will be required to attend and complete a 12-week full-time paid training program.
