The Cowichan District Hospital Foundation (CDHF) is dedicated to bringing world-class critical care equipment for our medical professionals at the Cowichan District Hospital. The job entails providing friendly, efficient customer service, including taking food orders, serving, food prep, and general cleaning including dishes, counters, equipment.
- **Duties may include, but are not limited to**:_
- Opening/closing
- Greeting customers and advising customers on menu selections
- Taking orders and packaging food
- Preparing food (ie: heating, assembling)
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment, emptying garbages
- Restocking / inventory management
- Providing great customer service
- Processing payments
- Receiving, unpacking and storing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage ages
- **Requirements**:_
- Experience/training working in a food services environment
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to work independently
- Confidence to work in a fast-paced environment and stay cool under pressure
- Exceptional customer service and resolution skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to speak courteously in any situation
- Experience with POS systems
- Accurately accept and count cash and make change
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be willing to work on a construction site
- Must have transportation to and from site
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check
- Must be legally able to work in Canada and reasonably within commuting distance
- Relevant experience in lieu of specific qualifications will be considered
