**SUMMARY**: The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for the purchasing and supply management of inventory and samples; GS1 data management; Canada customs clearances; inbound freight and logistics; product evaluations; and price list maintenance amongst other responsibilities.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with custom brokers, transport carriers and 3rd party warehouses to ensure the timely delivery of goods to our warehouses
- Manage and replenish stock and sample inventory
- Prepare and receive purchase orders
- Review the accuracy and condition of all inbound shipments including import documents, BOL’s, warehouse receipts, costs and invoices
- Determine selling and contract pricing for buy-sell inventory
- Build an excellent rapport and mutual business relationship with Suppliers
- Ensure imported products meet all CFIA requirements
- Assist with monthly physical inventory counts
- Work with warehouse personnel to manage close to code product
- Have minimum 5 years work experience in purchasing goods and services
- Experience with inventory control procedures
- Have extensive knowledge of importing food products into Canada
- Have thorough understanding of distribution/supplier network
- Have thorough knowledge of products being sold
- Possess strong analytical and negotiating skills
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Understand marketing and product merchandising concepts
- Have strong organizational skills
- Be results oriented and able to multi-task
- Have a great attitude
- Have ability to meet deadlines
