The Ability Management Specialist position is a great opportunity for anyone interested in taking their career down the Ability Management pathway. As the team continues to work on complex individual case management, they are also building up the overall programming, which includes the delivery of leadership training and associated materials.

**Salary**: $74,663 - $93,328 -$102,660 per year per year (pay range explained below)

**Hours**: 37.5 hours, Monday

- 3:00 pm)
**Location**: Anywhere in BC, preferred office Metro Vancouver: Sinclair - (Hybrid - minimum 50% in the offices). Upto 10% travel required.
Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway in Spring 2027.
**About the role**
As Specialist, Ability Management, you will promote FNHA’s approach to Health and Wellness in supporting the development, implementation and delivery of Ability Management Program. You will work in collaboration with the Program Lead, Ability Management and required stakeholders to facilitate employee workplace medical accommodation plans and gradual return to work plans while ensuring compliance with applicable legislations and FNHA policies. Additionally, you will employ the principles of disability management to actively support and ensure assigned disability cases are provided with appropriate case management to affect an early, timely and safe stay at work/return to work, reducing loss time and improving productivity, while decreasing financial loss to the organization.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have
- **Education**
- University degree in Disability Management or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and experience
**Occupational Certification**
- Certification in Disability Claims Management (CRTWC, CDMP) is an asset.
**Experience**
- Requires a minimum of 3 years of work experience in disability management, return to work programs, claims management or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably a mixed environment with union and non-union employees;
- Experience in an occupational health setting or HR experience an asset;
- Experience with training, coaching and educating HR staff and management;
- Experience with collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to effectively manage the safe and timely, workplace medical accommodations and return to work of injured or ill employees;
- Experience with conflict resolution/mediation and decision making skills;
**Knowledge**
- Sensitivity to and understanding of key issues and opportunities for British Columbia First Nations;
- Working knowledge of Part II of the Canada Labour Code, Canadian Human Rights legislation, Workers’ Compensations legislations, return to work principles and disability management practices;

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
