St. Michael’s Hospital Women’s Health (High-Risk Obstetrics) is looking to recruit a Full-Time Temporary Sonographer (approximately 18-month contract) to join our amazing team. We are located at 61 Queen St. E, across the street from St. Michael’s Hospital. We are easily accessible by the 501 streetcar, subway (Queen station), and Front Street Go train (13 min walk in the PATH or subway from Union Station).

Our clinic operates Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, with no weekends or statutory holiday shifts required. Our Unity Health pay range is exceptionally competitive with relatively quick pay steps to reach the top of the pay range within 3 years. We start at 3 weeks’ vacation and reach 4 weeks’ vacation after 3 years. We are members of HOOPP and have a flexible benefit package. We are unionized.

As a sonographer in our Maternal-Fetal Medicine clinic, you are an essential member of our patient care team. Our sonographers are highly respected and work closely with the fetal Medicine Specialists (MFM). We are an MFM driven clinic, providing routine first trimester, second trimester and third trimester ultrasounds as well as high-risk OB ultrasounds. There is a comprehensive training period to familiarize you with our protocols and expectations. Our inter-hospital rounds are accredited by Sonography Canada for CPD points. We have weekly rounds on Friday morning via ZOOM as well as voluntary lunch time rounds several times a week. There are ample rounds to achieve all of your CPD requirements As well, the MFM’s provide funding for registration for one conference every three years that is equivalent to the registration cost of “Setting The Standard” at Mount Sinai Hospital.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Performs and assesses ultrasound procedures in obstetrics including U/S for dates, first trimester screening, 18-20 week level 2 anatomical scan, biophysical profile, and Obstetrical ultrasound for pregnant people with diabetes and other Obstetrical risks.
- Utilizing a trauma-informed approach, provides reassurance and teaching as needed to patients undergoing Obstetrical ultrasounds.
- Provides optimum patient-centered care and demonstrates a professional manner in the work setting.
- Reports, reviews and records findings of scans to provide accurate patient diagnosis.
- Consults with Obstetrician as needed about ultrasound results.
- Operates and provides continuous maintenance of ultrasound equipment via participation in Quality Control and Quality Assurance tests.
- Participates in teaching and training students, residents, and staff; and communicates with Obstetrical Clinical Coordinator on student progress/problems.
- Actively participates in team building concepts, and development of departmental goals.
- Must be able to work independently and without supervision.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Registration and good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
- Must be certified in Obstetrics.
- Recent experience in Obstetrical ultrasound.
- Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed, equitable and patient-centered care and customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal/written), and organization skills.
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an effective team member.
- Ability to meet patient and staff needs in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner.
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the Mission and Values of St. Michael's Hospital.
- Commitment to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
- Must be flexible, punctual and have an excellent attendance record.

**HOURS**:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
