We currently have a **Regular **Full-time** opportunity for a **Diagnostic Medical Sonographer** on the **GUS Medical Imaging **department at **Bayview.**

**Hours of Work:
Weekdays: Days, Evenings and Nights; 8 hrs; As per schedule

Weekends: As required

Statutory Holidays: Required

**Summary of Duties**
- Performs ultrasound imaging procedures in General Ultrasound, BI, ER Department and or in the OR as required, including evening, nights, weekends and call shifts
- Performs and troubleshoots required care and maintenance of ultrasound and medical imaging equipment as required to ensure they are performing in an effective manner.
- Performs a variety of general diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdomen, gyne, small parts
- While performing ultrasound procedures, strives to ensure effective, quality and safe care to patients to meet patient needs
- Prepares and maintains adequate written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results according to departmental policy and procedures
- Collaborates and participate in teaching, research, educational, safety and quality improvement programs.

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Member of the CMRITO in the specialty of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (SMD)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT),preferred, but not mandatory
- Demonstrated excellence in advanced clinical competence, organization and prioritization of work
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a interprofessional team environment, to be prepared to lead if and when required
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative and dedication to lifelong professional development
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
- Current BCLS certification
- Ability to work a variety of shifts and on call rotation
- Recent related ultrasound technologist experience required
- Excellent organizational skills, able to organize and prioritize work.
- Proven time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships
