Marketing Manager

This fast-paced, creative, hands-on position will work closely with the CEO and the Director of Philanthropy to help scale the organization from its strong local roots in Canada and Kenya to become a global hub for generational change for women.

The Marketing Manager leads the brand experience - how One Girl Can shows up and is perceived for our corporate partners and sponsors, as well as individual donors at every level. This critical role is responsible for supporting the fundraising efforts of One Girl Can through a wide variety of initiatives from brand building and expanding our donor base, to enhancing programs in Kenya and collaborating with a diverse team to stage our popular annual fundraising event.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**DESIGN**
- Oversees the graphic designer on the creation of impactful materials based on brand guidelines to build brand awareness through social media, online campaigns, digital and print communication.
- Collaborates with the fundraising team and the graphic designer to create PowerPoint decks and other design documents aimed at securing grants and major donor gifts.
- Directs the graphic designer to refresh the website from time to time, build new pages, and campaign banners as required

**DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA**
- Leads the ideation, development, and implementation of the annual marketing and content calendar including themes and cultural and international references
- Manages the Marketing and Communications Assistant in Kenya to create content that will build brand awareness locally and internationally
- Monitors digital analytics, analyzing the data to track against set goals and strategize further improvements
- Coordinates with partners, influencers, and brand ambassadors to build new partnerships and brand awareness.

**EVENTS**
- Assists in the planning and execution of the annual fundraising event, including building a dynamic content calendar, enhancing the website to reflect event activities, creating relevant newsletters and social posts to drive ticket sales, and developing marketing materials to enhance our presence at the event
- Develops a robust social media package; brings relevant influencers, ambassadors and media on board to help promote the event
- Liaises with the event committee to support all activities and action plans arises from strategy meetings
- Works with the Executive Director in Kenya to plan the annual leadership conference in Nairobi.
- Develops media releases, oversees the creation of the PowerPoint decks for speakers, creates branded merchandise for student attendees, etc.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field plus 5 years’ experience in an associated role

**ATTRIBUTES**
- Previous management or leadership experience
- Ability to bring great ideas from inception to full execution, including measuring results
- Proven background working with graphic designers to steward the brand image of the organization
- Superior writing skills
- Highly organized, analytical, detail and results-oriented
- A self-starter with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for the advancement and empowerment of women, particularly in underdeveloped countries such as Kenya
- Ability and desire to travel to Africa
