The UBC Sauder Development and Alumni Engagement team has a mission to inspire involvement and investment in UBC Sauder to drive innovation, further business knowledge and lead change for a better world. The Alumni Engagement team strives to develop lifelong, meaningful relationship between the school and its alumni.

The Alumni Engagement Officer is instrumental in developing and managing priority alumni relationships in the Lower Mainland, and across national and international markets, in order to advance the school’s strategic goals. Duties can range from developing, coordinating, and executing plans for events and services to advance the UBC Sauder Alumni Engagement program.

Building a depth of knowledge on UBC Sauder alumni through research and relationship-building, the Alumni Engagement Officer works closely with the UBC Sauder leadership, other academic units and partners across campus to share this knowledge.

This role requires a thorough knowledge of the activities undertaken by the UBC Sauder, as well as knowledge of _alumni UBC_ and University policies and procedures.

Alumni engagement outreach with volunteers and event activity may require work beyond the typical work day. Flexible work hours and ability to travel will be necessary.

Organizational Status

The Alumni Engagement Officer is a member of the UBC Sauder Development and Alumni Engagement team. Reports to the Manager, Alumni Engagement.

Interacts with UBC Sauder Dean, Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Engagement, the Development and Alumni Engagement team, UBC Sauder employees and faculty.

Liaises with _alumni UBC_, campus and off-campus communities, alumni volunteers and the general public, and builds strategic partnerships to contribute to the successful execution of the school’s Alumni Engagement program_._

Work Performed

Alumni Relations
- Manages programming and events for alumni in provincial, national and international markets, including but not limited to: developing strategic relationships with key volunteers, consulting with UBC Sauder Marketing and Communications team on invitations and online communication pieces, preparing and managing budgets, ensuring the success of each event including promoting the idea of staying connected and engaged with UBC and UBC Sauder.
- Identifies opportunities for partner events that would bring value to our alumni, leveraging relationships with both internal and external partners.
- Leverages partnerships and collaborative opportunities with alumni and development professionals across campus to develop and ensure appropriate recognition, acknowledgement and stewardship programs are implemented for identified alumni.
- Leads select community building initiatives aligned with priority areas for the school.
- Leads the alumni reunions portfolio (including milestone graduation anniversaries, working closely with volunteer committees).
