**About the Organization**

**The Canadian Research Initiative in Substance Matters -**Atlantic node**is one of five nodes within the **CRISM**network, a Canada-wide intervention research network in the field of substance use. The CRISM network’s goal is to accelerate the transfer of scientific knowledge towards the development of new medications, psychological interventions, treatments, and services for people who use substances and those with substance use disorders.

**Job Summary**
- Reporting to the CRISM Atlantic Node Principal Investigator and the CRISM Atlantic Node Manager, this role is to guide and support activities related to CRISM Atlantic’s communications and knowledge translation and exchange strategy. The Coordinator will be responsible for developing and coordinating national training activities, training placements and training related communications.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Managing CRISM Atlantic communications, including implementation and support of knowledge translation and exchange strategies, updating website, social media and preparation of quarterly newsletter;
- Create high-quality, user-friendly knowledge translation products (e.g., infographics, summaries, briefs, evidence tables, toolkits) based on CRISM Atlantic’s research outputs, ensuring KT products are evidence-based and address needs of broad stakeholder base;
- Coordination of national training activities, training placements and training related communication across all CRISM nodes;
- Drafting documents (e.g., reports, presentations, webinars, evaluation materials) describing CRISM training activities;
- Responsible for investigating avenues for additional funding to support and grow elements of the National training programs; and
- Overall management of the CRISM training budget and coordination of training placements and stipends.

**Note**
- The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

This role will require some travel so flexibility with respect to working hours may be necessary. Additional hours may occur during evenings or weekends.

**Required Qualifications**
- Diploma or Certificate program in communications with minimum two years of related communications experience, including online formats for information communications, developing communications and knowledge user relations strategies.
- Proven experience or diploma or certificate program in Human Resources or Adult Education with minimum two years of related training and development experience.
- Proficiency in WordPress, Mailchimp, MS Office suite, and other graphics editing software.
- Experience developing communications and knowledge user relations plans in research or academic environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Experience developing and coordinating training plans and policies, and securing funding.

**Assets**
- Knowledge in substance use intervention research and practice.
- Experience in patient-oriented research and working with people with living and lived experience of substance use.
- Experience and understanding of the research pipeline (academic and other funding structures).
- Bilingual (spoken and written English and French).
- Knowledge and experience working with multidisciplinary translational research teams.
