Halton Women’s Place provides a safe haven, information, and education to support women and children to live a life free from violence. We operate two emergency safe shelters, as well as community outreach and public education program. Our safe shelter facilities operate on a 24/7 basis. We are dedicated to ending violence against women and their children.

**What We Are Looking For**

We are searching for a self-motivated and outgoing event specialist to assist our organization in delivering phenomenal events that build partnerships, generate excitement around our organization and amplify awareness.

**Who You Are**

**What You Will Do**

Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy & Community Engagement, the event specialist will be part of the Signature Events Team.

The event specialist will be responsible for conceptualizing event themes and planning while overseeing all event logistics, including but not limited to:

- preparing and managing timelines,
- coordinating technical aspects,
- marketing,
- managing event staff,
- preparing expense reports and managing risk.

Your creativity and resourcefulness in organizing and hosting successful events that meet agency objectives, will aid us in engaging with donors, inspire confidence in our Organization’s overall purpose, and communicate effective strategy to internal and external stakeholders.

In addition to the above, your core responsibilities are:

- Creating and managing our events calendar.
- Developing event concepts.
- Managing budgets.
- Site selection.
- Coordinating logístical elements.
- Organizing marketing material.
- Liaising with speakers and preparing speaking notes.
- Post-event reporting.

**What You Will Have**
- Degree/Diploma in event planning, public relations, marketing, or a combination of experience and/or related education.
- Extensive experience with planning and oversee events.
- Strong technical knowledge required.
- Microsoft office is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Project management experience.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Multi-tasker with a strong work ethic.
- Superior interpersonal skills.
- Creativity.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Expert communication skills.
- Access to a reliable vehicle is required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
