**Description**

The Lab Technician will ensure effective technical support and deliver the various aspects of the process outlined below, with a constant focus on providing top-quality technical results. The Lab Technician also supports day-to-day operations by completing various lab tasks.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the artists by sourcing and preparing elements and suites as required
- Prepare all audio, video, graphic and artwork files prior to scheduled jobs
- Ensure all audio and video elements are downloaded and transcoded as needed prior to scheduled jobs
- Ensure that all non-session related tasks, included but not limited to; dubs, down/cross converts, postings, graphics preparation, quality control and deliverables are completed effectively and in a timely manner
- Archiving and data management of the network shared storages, local storages and online storages
- Effectively complete data input/output duties, including importing and exporting data on the network
- Effectively work with Avid, Premiere and Resolve project files
- Ensure effective sourcing of EDL, AAF, and XML files
- Troubleshoot and communicate technical issues to Lab Manager as well as to artist(s) prior to scheduled jobs
- Maintain operational knowledge of various file based formats including camera raw files, various ProRes formats, various.mxf formats, and various editorial formats
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the dailies and transcoding systems and workflows
- Maintain an understanding of video scopes and non-linear editing systems
- Maintain a clear understanding of analog and digital, SD, HD, UHD, 4K television standards and specifications along with broadcast requirements and online streaming fundamentals

**Requirements**:

- 1+ years experience in post-production
- Post-secondary degree in a related field preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent team player
- Outstanding customer service skills with ability to operate calmly and efficiently
- Detail oriented person with keen eyes and organizational skills
- Willing to work flexible hours, such as overnight shift for the digital dailies as needed
- Experience in post-production, 3D/animation or colour correction atmosphere is preferred
- Operational knowledge of various software including; Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder), Avid, Resolve, FTP Client, and Compressor
