Chemist

We are currently seeking a motivated, energetic, and detail-driven **Chemist **to join our Quality Team here are Covalon Technologies.
- This position will be working at our Covalon Technologies East Gate Facility in Mississauga Canada.

**The Role**

As a Chemist for our Mississauga, East Gate production facility, you will be performing raw material, finished product, and stability testing for our medical product development. This role will also be responsible for QC method validation and equipment calibration / qualification. In addition, this position will also perform out of specification, non-conforming material, and deviation investigations.

This is a very detailed position requiring the ability to develop stability schedules and monitor the stability program. Administratively, this role will also review, update, and write quality and production-related standard operations procedures and work instructions.

**Key Factors for Success**

Some necessary skills and experiences for this position include:

- **Experience**: At least 3 years “hands on” chemistry lab experience.
- **Education**: A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or chemical engineering.
- **Advanced Analytical Techniques**: Including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP).
- **Quality Operations**: Must be able to perform equipment and process validations.
- **Tech Transfer**: Must understand and execute tech transfer of any process or data grouping, create documentation, and communicate accurately to all levels within the operation.
- **A high level of emotional intelligence**: Consistently demonstrating the open mindedness of a problem solver who can collaboratively engage multiple people, in multiple departments, and work in difficult situations _in a positive way_.
- **Onsite**: This position is 100% onsite - it is not a remote or hybrid position. In addition, the team member must be able to act competently in emergencies and work on a flexible schedule.
- **Excellent Communication Skills**: High levels of organizational, team, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).

Located at Covalon’s Eastgate Facility in Mississauga, Canada, this position requires the incumbent to spend 70-90% of the time working in the laboratory environment, while the remaining times will be split between seated workstation duties (keyboarding, monitor, and mouse use), and collaborating in meetings and consultation sessions with staff and management.

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
