Engagement Manager

Sea Change Brewing Company and Shiddy’s Distilling are expanding into Calgary, and we’re seeking a dynamic, community-driven Engagement Manager to lead our local outreach, events, and sponsorships. This position focuses on cultivating relationships, coordinating events, managing a small team and help with driving community and cultural engagement across Calgary’s markets, venues, and festivals.

The Calgary Engagement Manager will be the face of Sea Change, Shiddy’s, and Flat Boy in Calgary, building community partnerships, managing the markets team, helping with tastings, executing grassroots activations, and representing our brands at events, tap takeovers, festivals, and concerts. This role combines creativity, organization, and a deep love for local culture and music.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Music & Festival Programming
- Develop and help manage the Sea Change and Shiddy’s music and events calendar in Calgary.
- Liaise with local musicians, promoters, and event partners to execute live performances, pop-ups, and festivals.
- Support brand partnerships with activating local cultural organizations, music venues, and festivals.
- Work with our Markets and Events Coordinator to staff events and tastings

2. Community Engagement & Public Relations
- Represent Sea Change, Shiddy’s, and Flat Boy at community and industry events.
- Build partnerships with local charities, arts organizations, and small businesses.
- Manage activations for local sponsorships, donations, and collaborations.
- Support media outreach and PR efforts for Calgary events.

3. Event Operations & Coordination
- Help Plan and execute local activations including beer launches, festivals, and brand collaborations.
- Coordinate logistics for pop-up events, ensuring smooth set-up, execution, and teardown.
- Assist in the development of experiential marketing activations and merchandise displays.
- Maintain a detailed event and activation schedule with measurable outcomes.

4. Team & Collaboration
- Work closely with the Edmonton Engagement team and report to the General Manager.
- Support and mentor Calgary markets, sales and events staff.
- Work with Sales Reps on OP Account Activations and Management
- Help Sales Reps Coordinate sampling and tastings
- Coordinate with the marketing team for social content and promotional campaigns.
- Contribute to company-wide event strategy and community initiatives.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Proven experience in event coordination, live music programming, or community engagement.
- Strong understanding of Calgary’s music, hospitality, and festival scenes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and relationships simultaneously.
- Outgoing, reliable, and passionate about craft beer, local music, and community building.
- Available to work evenings and weekends during events and festivals.

**KEY DUTIES**
- Coordinate all Calgary-based engagement, community, markets, trade shows and music activities.
- Attend and represent the company at local festivals and partnership meetings.
- Manage sponsorship requests and help with brand collaborations.
- Provide weekly reporting to the General Manager
- Act as Brand Ambassador for Sea Change, Shiddy’s, and Flat Boy Burgers across Calgary.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Event Plannin: 2 years (preferred)
- Hospitality or Customer Service: 2 years (required)
