**We are currently seeking a dispatch assistant to join our team**

This position requires a strong working individual who can work independently and with others to ensure day to day duties are completed in a timely manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Schedule pickups/ deliveries with customers.
- Working with dispatching program to create/ maintain delivery routes.
- Use our routing system/ client programs to update information accordingly and send out scheduled confirmations.
- Interactions with customers/ client representatives.
- Receive calls from drivers, assist with contacting customers enroute and reporting discrepancies/ damages
- Receive trailers systematically and physically if required.
- Trouble shoots and resolves potential delivery and pickup problems before they result in service issues.
- Complete inventory checks, and track orders.
- Track returns/ damages and their condition

May perform some additional responsibilities as assigned by the HD Manager.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies**:
Completion of high school. Post-secondary courses or diploma would be considered an asset.
1-2 years in a transportation, dispatch or customer service role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer focus.
Proven ability to multi-task & ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Knowledge of industry an asset.

**Salary**: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
