**About the Role**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Implement and manage the health and safety program on the project, ensuring compliance with both company and client standards.
- Develop site-specific safety plans, conduct risk assessments, and implement control measures to mitigate hazards.
- Lead safety training and inductions for all site personnel, ensuring a thorough understanding of safety protocols.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance and address any safety concerns.
- Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project management, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure alignment on safety practices.
- Manage safety documentation, including reports, training records, and incident logs.
- Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and best practices, driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
**Qualifications**:
- 10+ years experience in transit and rail construction
- Extensive experience managing health and safety on construction projects, particularly in infrastructure or public works.
- Proven track record of implementing and managing safety programs on large, complex projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
- Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and standards relevant to the construction industry.
- COR2020 experience required.
- First Aid certification required.
- Working at Heights certification required.
- Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certification required.
- Valid G driver’s license required.
**Preferred Experience**:
- Experience working on projects for public transit or infrastructure agencies, such as Metrolinx, is highly valued.
