We are looking for a proactive, resourceful, and driven **Counter Sales/Yard Assistant **to join our growing team in a seasonal (9 months out of the year), full-time capacity at our Portland location

- **The Responsibilities**:_

**Customer Service**
- Responsible for processing all telephone, fax and electronically transmitted orders, quotations, inquires and technical questions in an expedient and professional way, keeping our customer expectations at an optimum level
- Responsible for entering orders, handling returns and warranty items, and conducting stock checks; processes payment for sold items
- Responsible for follow-ups and timely completion of quotations, open-orders, and backorders
- Relays order status to customers or the status of credits and warranty claims
- Responds to customer inquiries on installation, troubleshooting, appropriate adjacent equipment, etc.; works with product manufacturers to provide customers with an answer or solution
- Maintains the CRM database, customer order records, and associated documentation
- Responsible for the customer service and counter areas both inside and outside overall tidiness, including stocking of and organization of displays
- Greets visitors in a polite, welcoming manner and directs them as needed

**Inventory and Delivery**
- Responsible for local deliveries and pick-ups as required
- esponsible for maintaining the cleanliness of company vehicles
- Responsible for operating a forklift to load and unload product
- Responsible for the assembly of various products
- **The Skills and Qualifications**:_
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of products sold is considered an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be a minimum of 25 years of age for insurance requirements
- Experience with the safe operation of a forklift is considered an asset
- Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with other employees as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills
