Casual Driver/warehouse Associate

We are looking for a Warehouse Associate/Casual Driver for our Distribution Center in Surrey, BC to support day-to-day warehouse activities and deliver garage door sections and associated products to customers or job sites safely, efficiently and free from damage. The Driver will also be responsible to unload freight at select locations and demonstrate a positive reflection of the quality and services for which we are known.

Work shifts are full-time Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00 pm with weekends off.

You may do any or all of the following in your typical workday:

- Safely operate a delivery truck while transporting non-hazardous materials
- Check products for damage prior to loading
- Ensure equipment is maintained and clean at all times, representing the company
- Ensure goods are secured properly and safely for transporation
- Receive shipments, log into inventory, maintain inventory through audits
- Unload and load freight off/on trailers; lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs frequently and greater than 75 lbs occasionally)
- Accurately pulls, fills, packs and sets up orders for delivery or pickup
- Organizes and prioritize shipments including staging the orders in uniform fashion for ease of loading and verification
- Assists in loading and unloading delivery vehicles and truck
- Communicates positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick-up
- Moves all inventory into allocated spaces within warehouse
- Assists in keeping facility clean, neat, safe and operating efficiently
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements for the position:

- Ability to safely operate a pallet jack and a forklift
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products preferred
- Valid driver's license with Class 5 endorsement
- Clear driver's abstract available
- Forklift experience preferred
- Previous driving experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of basic warehouse principles and practices
- Knowledge of good internal/external customer service principle and practices
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet targets and deadlines
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet objectives
- Physical requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb a ladder/stairs, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach outward and work above shoulders, use wrist (flexion/extension) and grasp (forceful), manual dexterity
- Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs safely with or without assistance
