Delivery Truck Driver

**Yard location: Ottawa, ON**
**Workdays: Monday to Friday**
**No Weekends**
**No Statutory Holidays**
**Shift Start time: approximately 5:00AM to 7:30AM and work 8 to 10 hour shift**

**What you will do**:

- **
- Drive 3 ton vehicle to deliver freights to assigned stops within Ottawa and surrounding areas**_
- Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time (40+ deliveries daily)
- Use a handheld device to scan documents and freights
- **
- Load and Unload freight in proper sequence with the use of a dolley and or pallet truck (lift up to 70lbs)**_
- Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
- Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
- Report on all safety hazards and accidents
- Use a cellular phone to communicate with dispatch ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Build strong client relationships
- Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
- Additional duties as required

**What you will get**:
** Hourly paid $20.50/hr. to start and after 90 day probation increase to $21.00/hr.**

**What we require of you**:

- High School Diploma
- Valid G Driver’s License
- Clean CVOR and Personal Driver’s Abstract
- Courier or LTL experience is an asset
- Must have 1 year **_COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVING_** experience
- This shift will be Monday to Friday. 10 hour workdays with start times from 5AM to 7:30AM. Overtime will be paid.
- Capable of doing physical labour with a great degree of strength and stamina - lift up to 70lbs
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
- Customer Focus - experience providing quality customer service
- Adaptable to change
- Experience working in a fast paced environment
- Experience working independently and with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work on a team and being a team player
