Moody's North America Financial Institutions Group is hiring an AVP-Analyst to join our team in Toronto

The AVP-Analyst is an exciting, high-profile role that will lead the credit analysis of a portfolio of issuers in the Canadian Financial Institutions Team, which includes regional Canadian banks and non-banks that could include pensions funds and P&C insurers. The portfolio specifics will be tailored to their previous experience and the team’s business needs. They will provide impactful in-depth credit analysis on the designated portfolio of rated firms to ensure rating accuracy, build and manage effectively issuer relationships at the senior executive level and actively participate in investor and media outreach. They will also develop and raise the profile of the team externally through thought-leading research that enhances analytics, participation in conferences, and boardroom interaction with issuers and investors.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned Financial Institution issuers
- Perform and present in-depth fundamental credit analysis effectively and comprehensively on a regular basis at rating committees
- Build and maintain high quality relationships with firms’ senior management, intermediaries and other stakeholders
- Write in-depth, high quality, insightful and focused research on credit trends affective issuers and their sectors
- Represent Moody's and participate in high-profile conferences and third-party events
- Mentor and develop support associate analysts
- 5+ years of credit/risk assessment experience gained from a financial institution, asset management firm or public accounting firm, or proven equivalent
- Keen understanding of Canadian and/or [global] financial markets and regulatory environments
- Strong academic background at least equivalent to an MBA/CFA
- Excellent communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills
- Highly proficient analysis skills (quantitative, qualitative)
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to collaborate closely with others as well as independently to produce accurate, detailed work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timely delivery
- Willingness to travel as required
