Vip & Marketing Manager

**Position**: VIP & Marketing Manager

**Reports to**: General Manager, Managing Partner

**General Outline and Goal**:
Enforcing company policies and standard operating procedures to ensure that all departments are operating in an efficient and acceptable manner. Keep up to date with hospitality trends, pricing, and marketing. Major focus is to improve the quality and experience of Cabana’s bottle service program and to generate more revenue from the improved experience and marketing strategies.

Working Hours and Expectations
- 40 - 45 hours per week as required.
- 3 - 4 closing nights
- 1 flexible administrative day.
- 2 Consecutive days off.
- 10% Commission on table & event reservations.

**Marketing Duties**:

- Seek out new opportunities to find new clientele.
- Manage and moderate the Cabana IG and Facebook Pages
- Spearhead the creation of a Cabana TikTok account.
- Evaluate and create Eventbrite or other ticket site events to drive additional guestlist or event traffic.
- Increase revenue through the above tactics or novel strategies.

**Opening Duties**:

- Remove the bar from the back door as per fire code.
- Double check the schedule for shorts or sick calls and fill in any gaps in homebase.
- Retrieve floats for each bar dependent on start times. Floats should not be left unattended before transferring to staff.
- Check for low or 86’d inventory.
- Provide stationary and appropriate forms for all departments.
- Confirm and coordinate any reservations for the night.
- Ensure all micros terminals and debit terminals are in working order.
- Check patron scan terminals for errors or hardware issues. Verify that the handheld scanner is charging.
- Double check all projectors and lighting.
- Move DJ gear to the appropriate location for the evening.
- Verify that staff are on time and each department is ready to go for open.
- Pre-shift with serving staff and identify areas of improvement in service. Note areas of excellence and reward high achieving staff members.
- Assign positions based on skill to servers and porters.

**Operating Duties**:

- Make regular visits to all guests at their tables ensuring that juices are filled, tables are cleaned, napkins and straws are stocked by servers and support members. Fill in gaps as required if staff are occupied.
- Introduce yourself to table guests and regulars to build repour.
- Assist servers with discounts and voids. Confirm that product is charged for if it goes out.
- Ensuring sound decibels do not exceed the legal limit. (90db.) Remind entertainment staff to play on brand according to the style of music determined for the night. You should be able to hear a guest talking loud roughly 1ft away. The ability to communicate curbs violence and aggression.
- Observe overly obnoxious, aggressive, or intoxicated guests. Coordinate behaviour corrections and evictions with security.
- Train and help servers with upselling and product knowledge.
- Communicate with servers and bartenders regarding short or 86 stock. Micros is programmable with counts.
- Audit security positions based on guest mood or aggression. The back and VIP doors should always be covered to prevent illegitimate entry. Check coverage and zones.
- Ensuring alcohol goes towards tables in a timely fashion. Promo shots for longer waits. Replace any spilled product due to guest negligence.
- Adhere to all liquor laws and regulations. Pay particular attention to having no physical bottles accessible by guests and that the 3oz per person regulations are adhered to. Target oz per guest is 2oz at any given time to allow some contingency.
- Fill in service gaps on bar or on the floor as required during high volume periods and on weeknights.

**Closing Duties**:

- Close promo tabs on all bars and with the servers. Verify that totals do not exceed maximums for staff and contractors. Additional promo is billed at 50% unless justified. Use best judgement or speak with senior management.
- Assist with any cash handling issues. Provide bars with sales reads after they calculate their remit. Collect any shorts within reason.
- Complete and document any casual labour or cash payouts.
- Do a quick audit of table bookings to ensure accuracy. Commissions are completed Wednesday afternoons.
- Have sound, lighting or DJs put up the house lights and turn the music off at 3am. Five minutes grace is acceptable on nights that show no aggression or violence. Use best judgement.
- Assist new staff and servers with cash outs.
- Secure all floats, cash outs, cash boxes, and USD in the safe.
- Set the office alarm
- Bar the rear door and ensure the cooler is locked. Unlock the Eden and accessible washroom doors.
- Check all areas for staff or guests that may have been missed.
- Turn off all lighting except for the house lights. Front signage should also be off.
- Close the stairwell door and set the main alarm. Check both front doors.

**Administrative Duties**:
