**Summary**
**Responsibilities**
- Perform daily accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing, PO/SC matching and data entry
- Prepare cheque runs to pay vendor invoices, ensuring WorkSafe BC clearance and General Liability Insurance is current prior to release
- Collaborate with the Project Superintendents and Project Managers to resolve issues and ensure smooth processing of vendor invoices
- Process payroll and ensure timely payment to employees.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with vendors including being the point of contact to resolve any invoice and payment issues
- Reconcile vendor account statements against accounts payable subledger to ensure accuracy
- Maintain and organize accounts payable records, files, and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Update Job Cost records, including setting up new jobs, subcontracts, and entering estimates
- Assist with preparation of client monthly progress claim packages, ensuring excel data files are updated for the Project Management Workbooks
- Perform administrative duties, including organizing couriers and ordering supplies
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as needed.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role in the financial services sector.(1+ year)
- Post Secondary educations in accounting or finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in accounting with a construction company would be an asset.
- Excellent math skills with attention to detail for accuracy in financial reporting.
- Experience with Sage 300 accounting software would be an asset.
- Familiarity with document management systems such as SiteMax and Timberscan would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Strong problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the company
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.50-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
