Wee Leprechauns Childcare Centre is looking for an experienced Early Childhood Assistant to work alongside our of RECE'S and ECA's. Our ideal teacher will be very positive, a team member, friendly, caring and shares our love of education and childcare.

**Part-time position: 25 - 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, Mid February until end of March moving to Full-time (30-40 hrs per week). Full-time may be offered after March 2025.**

**Job Summary**

**Duties**
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for all children, including those with disabilities.
- Observe and assess children's progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
- Foster positive relationships with children to encourage their emotional and social development.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom that promotes exploration and creativity.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

**Skills**
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is essential.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both children and adults.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and materials efficiently.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with children of varying backgrounds and abilities.
- Familiarity with teaching strategies that support the learning of children with disabilities is a plus.
- A passion for educating young minds and fostering a love for learning in the classroom environment.

**Must have**:

- Valid CPR/First Aid Training
- Valid Immunization and TB test completed (within 6 months prior to start date)
- Valid Police Check (completed within 6 months prior to start date) or willing to get one applied before start date.

**Pay scale**:$17.00 - $19, plus PWE = $19.00 - $21.00 depending on ECA centre experience.

**Part-time hours**: 25 - 30 hours per week

**Full-time hours**:30 - 40 hours per week

Health Benefits included for person working over 25 hours per week.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 - 36 months

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
