Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant to support the development and well-being of young children in a nurturing educational environment. This role involves assisting lead teachers in creating engaging activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive space, and fostering positive interactions with children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children, including those with disabilities.

Duties

  • Assist in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities tailored to young children's developmental needs
  • Support children during playtime, learning activities, and mealtime to promote social skills and independence
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Provide caregiving support by attending to children's basic needs such as diapering, feeding, and comforting
  • Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to observe and document children's progress and behavior
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and team members to create an inclusive community atmosphere
  • Support children with disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance as needed

Requirements

  • Prior classroom experience working with young children or in early childhood education preferred
  • Experience working with children with disabilities is a plus
  • Strong caregiving skills with patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and teaching strategies
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with children, parents, and staff
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a positive learning environment for all children

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 20 per week
