**Job Overview**
The General Manager establishes and achieves the company’s annual performance goals. This individual is also responsible for directly managing and handling all warehousing and distribution functions at the organization's warehouse facilities. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight and adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures. The General Manager will accomplish effective logístical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skills while maintaining positive relations with customers, employees, vendors, and other company partners through direct and honest communications and outstanding performance.
**Responsibilities**
This Leader will be a “hands-on” manager who will reach company goals ethically, safely, accurately and on time to deliver a positive experience to our clients. The General Manager is primarily responsible for:
- Manage the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, products, and supplies that come in and out of Boreal Solutions LP warehouses.
- Ensure all production orders are shipped to customers on time in adherence to delivery schedules. Ensuring that all customers, vendors, salespeople, and warehouse staff are provided timely and accurate informationto meet their performance and/or company goals successfullys.
- Managing all sales, warehouse, and support staff to ensure a positive customer experience while maintaining company efficiency and cost control.
- Working effectively with all vendors, customers, and staff.
- Managing and motivating growth in a highly competitive environment.
- Implementing strategic plans, sales plans, and any other company performance initiatives approved by the Directors.
- Ensuring company compliance with all laws, acts, and regulations.
- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
- Consider full implications of freight turnover, size, weight, and other factors when allocating warehouse space.
- Manage an annual budget or capital investment plan for warehousing functions across the organization.
- Develop and/or enforce corporate policies regarding security and safety to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and/or hazardous materials.
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination.
- Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment.
- Assess the need for, and arrange the purchase of, moving equipment like trailers, forklifts, crash pads, dollies, and so on.
- Identify discrepancies between inventory records and act.
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; adjust where necessary.
- Implement and monitor performance metrics for shipping and receiving.
- Supervise facility design, improvements, and contracts, including real estate transactions, leases, repairs, and design.
**Requirements**:
- Experienced in General management
- Experienced with cycle counts and physical inventory planning and performance
- Minimum five years sales, customer service and management experience
- Previous experience in Janitorial/Sanitation industry preferred
- Computer savvy, proficient in Word and Excel, Point-of-Sales, and ability to learn new operating systems
- Strong time management and planning skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be willing to travel
