Bring your disability management and human resource management skills and experience to the People Operations Bureau with the Ontario Provincial Police, Ministry of the Solicitor General. As trusted advisors, you will have an opportunity to guide managers and employees through employee centered return to work and employment accommodation processes, identify complex matters and linkages to work with other areas of People and Business Strategy (HR) and Workplace Safety and Claims Administration units.

This position requires a high level of engagement with managers and stakeholders.
The successful applicant will be required to report to 615 James St South, Thunder Bay as per the OPP/OPS workplace policies.

A temporary vacancy currently exists within the Thunder Bay location. This competition will be used to create an eligibility list to fill upcoming opportunities within the following Locations:

**About the job**: Working as an Advisor, you will:

- Provide disability case management expertise supporting managers and employees through absence, return to work and employment accommodation processes.
- Provide HR advice and expertise, strategic planning and project management services in the areas of strategic HR, workplace safety insurance claims administration, organizational health, safety and wellness, accommodations and disability management.
- Facilitate the process for accommodation and return to work.
- Deliver related training within the organization.
- Lead OPP projects and HR initiatives, developing strategies and processes to implement, assess and recalibrate to meet client needs.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate human resources impacts associated with achieving OPP business plans.

**Mandatory requirements**:

- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

**Disability Management and Accommodations**:

- You have specialized knowledge of employment accommodation and return to work case management, Workplace Safety and Insurance Long Term Income Protection (LTIP) administration.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of various legislation and/or policies related to Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Workplace Discrimination and Harassment Prevention policies and/or other related Human Resource knowledge and experience.
- You have knowledge to provide strategic advice, expertise, and develop recommendations, strategies and action plans to meet individual and business needs.

**Analytical Skills**:

- You can identify and assess, develop, monitor and evaluate overall business impacts and risk management strategies associated with achieving ministry business plans.
