**Responsibilities**:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children approximately 18 months to 5 years old) that promote their physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and language development.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where each child feels valued, supported and is able to learn in an environment that is not rushed.
- Observe and document children's learning and development through the HiMama app, and use this information to inform creative curriculum planning and individualize learning areas.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children and their families, maintaining open and effective verbal and written communication.
- Work collaboratively with co-workers to create a cohesive and supportive team environment, within the classroom and the centre.
- Ensure the classroom is in compliance with all relevant Ministry of Education policies, procedures, and licensing regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained classroom environment, on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Maintain the classroom boards - removing & putting up new artwork, photos, birthdays, menus, cleaning sheets, allergy sheets, etc.
- Ensure classroom has windows and walls decorated with children's artwork.
- Actively participate and contribute in monthly team meetings, professional development opportunities, and program events.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the children.
- Work independently and take initiative within the classroom setting.
- Work to meet deadlines of programming.
- Demonstrates the extensive knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and other relevant Ministry of Education policies and guidelines.
**Qualifications**:
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working directly with infants and toddlers in a licensed child care setting. Field placements not included.
- Thorough knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and other relevant Ministry of Education policies and guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrates the ability to confidently solve problems or inquires from family members or team members in a professional manner.
- Strong observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently without full direction from the Supervisor and as a collaborative team member to enhance the classroom and centre.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- A genuine love, patience, and understanding of young children, is able to give the children freedom to explore various planned activities and ensure they are kept in a safe environment at all times.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain asap).
- A clear and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check completed within 6 months (or willingness to obtain asap).
- TB test (completed within 6 months) & Immunization Records within 6 months (or willingness to obtain asap).
- Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
