Event and Multimedia Assistant

The Event and Multimedia Assistant is responsible for assisting with multimedia representation of programs, products, and online presence as well as assisting with the production of events, and different fundraising opportunities throughout the year that will help the Bowmanville Older Adult Association (BOAA).
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
**Multimedia**
- Assists with the presentation materials; writing, directing and/or editing Bowmanville Older Adult Association (BOAA) videos, posters, and program and event guides.
- Helps to ensure all materials are professionally presented, including correct spelling/grammar, and appropriate pictures, wording and font.
- Assist with photographing/videoing events to help document them, and to use images creatively on multimedia
- Help develop Webpage calendar to reflect programs and events in a creative manner.
- Assist in keeping all multimedia up-to-date with changes, cancellations, new projects, etc. so that members can find out what is happening at BOAA through our media presence.
- Assists with outreach to community and in engaging new members and re-engaging with members who are no longer engaged.
- Helps to ensure the BOAA brand and all materials are in keeping with a positive, inclusive and welcoming environment that represents our impeccable reputation in the community. Ensure all social media reflects well on BOAA.
- Assist in developing marketing material to help build membership, and solicit donations, sponsorships and collaborations with local businesses and the community at large in conjunction with the Events and Fundraising Coordinator and Relationship Manager.
**Events and Fundraising**
- Assist with event planning, and creating unique and high quality events that leave a positive impact.
- Hands on assistance during events and fundraising.
- Assist with decorations, displays and promotion of events and fundraisers.
- Help support, develop and promote relationships with individuals, community organizations and businesses to further grow events and third-party fundraising.
- Assist in execution of fundraising events and activities.
- Help with problem solving around feedback, learning from, and improvement of events and fundraisers.
- Assist in brainstorming ideas around events and fundraisers.
- Additional tasks as required.
**Qualifications**
**Education**
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in a non-profit, customer service, or event support role preferred
**Experience**
- Strong computer and editing skills. Comfortable and confident using Canva, Adobe, and Premiere Pro or willingness to learn, and aptitude for computer and social media presence.
- Creative ability and point of view.
- Able to work effectively with staff teams, volunteers, members, and senior management at all levels. A team player.
- Good communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Shows initiative, flexibility and resourcefulness.
- Ability to represent BOAA to members, larger community and partners/partnerships in a manner that reflects well on BOAA.
- Flexible with the ability to work evenings or weekends.
- Valid Ontario ‘G’ Driver’s License and vehicle available to travel throughout Durham region.
- COVID-19 Vaccinated
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
