The **Customs Analyst** will be a contributing resource at Toromont CAT for all customs and brokerage issues. This includes managing daily release and reporting activities for Canada and US Customs, compliance and maintenance activities for HS tariff classification of parts and vendor databases Descartes ITMR4 system.

**In a typical day, YOU will**:

- Monitor and audit daily CLVS shipments, ensure all shipment documents are present and reply to broker requests for support.
- CSA - Non CSA ensure all entries are accounted for to ensure time limits are met - monitor accuracy of all CCI entered by service provider & reconcile Month end reports; prepare x-type entries, refunds as needed. Maintain all non-CSA LVS and CLVS entries including HS classification, Country of Origin and valuation investigations.
- Participate in the maintenance of databases updates and processes. Support HS and parts database projects for compliance and corrections, (adjustment entries)
- Provide timely support to customs brokers (Livingston&GHY) with inquires for accurate customs documentation, and freight delivery releases to designated carriers.
- Support Manager with projects as required.

**Must-haves for this role**:

- Certified Customs Specialist Designation or equivalent and Post-Secondary Education
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with import/export documents and border clearance in all Modes of Transportation (truck, ocean, rail, air shipments)
- Thorough knowledge of the Customs Tariff, the Customs Act, Trade Agreements and detailed knowledge of the customs program, Customs Self-Assessment (CSA), end use tariff items (annex codes)
- High proficient in HS Tariff Classification
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- High Proficiency in MS Excel required
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Previous customs broker experience, heavy equipment or automotive experience strongly preferred
