Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Response Supervisor, the Gas Compression Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar Gas and Diesel engines in the shop and field environments.

Job Description:

- Troubleshooting Caterpillar equipment and perform equipment repairs- Interface with customers, products and sales support- Working with the Supervisor on various tasks- Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements- Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment- Various related duties as required

Qualifications:

- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification- Journeyperson Certification in Mechanic, Electrician, Millwright and Automotive may also be considered- Experience in the Gas Compression Industry- Minimum 3 years experience as a Heavy Duty Technician- Minimum 3 years experience working out of a Service truck- Completion, or in process of completing, Finning S-level courses- 5-year drivers abstract is required

Assets:

- Working on Caterpillar gas engines and compressors- Previous field service experience

Note:

- This position operates on a 5x2 schedule, based out of our Red Deer facility- Out of town work occasionally required- Shift work may be required- Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
