We are hiring a **Site Supervisor**. The successful applicant will succeed in a fast-paced, progressive career, enjoy working with people in a team environment, and lead with excellence. This full-time salary role supports Avana’s new development growth in Saskatchewan.. Reporting to the **Site Superintendent and Vice President, Construction**, you will support Avana’s development portfolio consisting of a combination of high-quality multi-unit, single-family residential, and commercial projects.
The **Site Supervisor **is responsible for supporting the Site Superintendent through the construction process and the overall construction activities. **The Site Supervisor **will also work collaboratively with Project Planners and Project Managers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work cohesively with the New Developments team to ensure projects are being completed to specification, on time, on budget, and to Avana’s standards.
- Support the New Developments team in day-to-day field activities year-round, inclusive of the Carpenters and Site Coordinators.
- Supports the management of all in-field activities of the contracting trades, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality delivery. Working closely with the Project Planners, who are responsible for the execution of the Project Schedule and the fulfillment of trade contracts.
- Participates in all ongoing in-field site and safety meetings.
- Works in collaboration with the Site Superintendent, who leads all aspects of site safety to ensure Avana’s construction sites comply with all policies and procedures of safety adherence.
- Enforce site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
- Attend drywall checkouts as well as building inspections with Project Planners as needed and correct any deficiencies in preparation for the transition to residential lease-up.
- Site cleanliness, oversight, and delegation.
- Attend and represent Avana at various community events and functions.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract.
- Preference to work in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to excellence.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, with fantastic organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise tact and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- A team player with the ability to work independently as well as guide the team as required.
- Extensive experience in the construction industry. OH&S knowledge is considered an asset.
- Carpentry trade certification is considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a post-secondary education degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with BuilderTrend is considered an asset as well.
- In this position, you will be required to work outside of regular office hours, including evenings and weekends during, busy seasons or times of the month.
**Compensation Package**:
- **Salary Range**:$55,000 - $75,000 based on education and experience. Salaries are reviewed annually in October.
- **Benefits**:Dental and medical benefits package. 80% of the cost is covered by Avana. Option for employees to purchase disability and life insurance.
- **Pension**:The Pension Plan will commence in your second year of employment. 2% of salary matched in year two, 3% of salary matched in year three, 4% of salary matched in year four, and 5% of salary matched in year five. Avana’s matched portion vests 12 months after the first contribution.
- **Vacation Entitlement**:20 business days per year. Must be accumulated prior to taking them.
- **Annual Bonus**:Opportunity to earn up to 10% of salary as an annual bonus.
- **Probation Period**:The probation period is 90 days from the start date listed.
- **COVID-19 Protocol**:Avana requires all employees to be fully vaccinated. Exemptions may be made for anyone who has a confirmed medical diagnosis with a doctor’s note.
- **Criminal Record Checks** are required for all Avana employees prior to being hired. This is to be obtained at your expense and will not be reimbursed by the Employer.
