Plant Production Associate

YOUR CONTRIBUTION:  
- Take direction from Plant Specialist to assist in all plant activities and maintenance including pruning, plant training, installation of plant supports (trellis ) and harvest; 
- Take direction from Post-Harvest Specialist to help manage all aspects of cannabis curing and trimming whilst also assisting in crop setup to ensure production, harvest and curing schedules are met, processes and resources are optimized; collaborate with Plant Manager (MG) and Plant Specialist (AMG) to ensure all curing and trimming activities are completed on time for transfer and production; 
- Follow production, harvesting, packaging and curing schedules and communicate all variances and/or deviations to the Plant Manager (MG); 
- Perform harvesting activities such as cutting down plants, hanging, de-fanning, and leaf removal, recording each activity; Assist in destruction of waste as per Standard Operating Procedures and Health Canada Cannabis regulation requirements; 
- Keep accurate documentation and records for all harvest activities and record in database (plant, processed, incentive and destruction weights); 
- Maintain storage areas and carry out general duties; 
- Mark and/or tag products with identifying information; 
- Maintain sanitation protocols and facility bio-security processes, including foot baths and other maintenance requirements; cross-functional work in sanitation department may be required from time to time;  
- Clean and sterilize all equipment and grow areas according to SOPs and Cannabis regulation requirements; 
- Assist with plant and production inventory counts as required; and
- Other duties as assigned by management. 
 

WHAT YOU BRING:  
- Understanding of cultivation or gardening techniques; 
- Good understanding of documentation procedures; 
- Familiarity with safe operation and general maintenance standards of tools and equipment preferred; 
- Demonstrated proficiency with accurate documentation and record keeping; 
- Manual dexterity and motor coordination; Good eye-hand coordination; 
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; 
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; 
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict Standard Operating Procedures; 
- Able to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time; capable of climbing ladders; and 
- Ability to work in humid conditions.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:  
- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent; 
- 1-year experience in harvest or labor environment; Cannabis experience is a strong asset; 
- Experience of Cannabis plant anatomy and strains strongly preferred, but not required; 
- WHMIS Certification/Training preferred; 
- Experience with SOP's preferred but not required; 
- Previous experience working with cannabis packaging or in production lines preferred; and 
- Previous experience in a highly regulated, commercial growing or production environment considered a strong asset.
