**Program Objective**:
To provide culturally sensitive support, education, trauma-informed care, and healing for survivors and families affected by the Sixties Scoop, addressing intergenerational trauma through a blend of Indigenous knowledge and contemporary therapeutic techniques.

**Positions Overview**:
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Deliver counselling services to Indigenous community members, incorporating a deep understanding of the impacts of intergenerational trauma, specifically related to the 60’s Scoop.
- Participate in regular supervision sessions as outlined in your contract, to ensure professional development and maintain high standards of care.
- Collaborate with other professionals and stakeholders within the health authority and Indigenous communities to optimize client care.
- Develop and implement individualized and group treatment plans that address emotional, mental, and psychological needs, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), or Exposure Therapy (training in these areas is considered an asset).
- Create and deliver educational materials for clients, families, and healthcare professionals, using effective educational strategies and knowledge translation methods.
- Maintain thorough documentation of client sessions and treatment outcomes, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to organizational policies.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Must be a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)or possess a combination of education and experience relevant to the position, particularly with a strong background in working with Indigenous communities.
- Training or experience in CBT, DBT, or Exposure Therapy is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to create educational materials, design education strategies, and translate knowledge into practice, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is required, as local travel within the Surrey geographic area may be needed to provide services or attend meetings.
