**Job Overview**
The Clinical Counselor plays a vital role in providing therapeutic support and guidance to patients, particularly children, within a clinical or hospital setting. This position involves assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing effective interventions to promote mental health and well-being. The Clinical Counselor will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

**Duties**
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of patients to determine their mental health needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Provide counseling and therapeutic interventions to children and families.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, including case management records and data collection.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and families about mental health issues, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Stay informed about current research in pediatrics and special education to enhance treatment approaches.

**Skills**
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to mental health and pediatrics.
- Experience working with children in clinical or educational settings is highly desirable.
- Proficient in data collection methods for assessing patient needs and outcomes.
- Knowledge of case management principles to effectively coordinate patient care.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to conduct research related to best practices in clinical counseling and interventions.
- Compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on building trust and rapport.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Freelance
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $90.00 per hour
